Site selection for grain legumes and cultivation tips
The presentation focuses on the question: Which grain legume is suitable for which location? Field beans require heavy, well-irrigated soils, while peas can also thrive in lighter locations. Lupins offer opportunities for drier regions, but have specific requirements in terms of pH value and lime content. Soybeans, on the other hand, primarily need a secure ripening period. An overview of location requirements, risks, and potential of summer and winter varieties will be provided, supplemented by information on weed pressure, soil structure, and water supply. The aim is to provide tips for the successful integration of grain legumes into your own farm. In addition to the Naturland cultivation advisor, an expert in chemical-synthetic plant protection will also be available to answer questions.
